Ah, the time for the New Year's resolutions.  It has been quite some time since I've indulged in this particular practice as I do not have a very good track record in keeping them and find it better to avoid the disappointment of breaking them by simply not making them in the first place.  However after some reflection I think, perhaps, I was mistaken.  That it is better to have set goals and risk not achieving them, than to wander through the year listlessly without some standard to measure yourself against.  That it is not in the succeeding, it is in the striving, and that failure does not mean you should stop, pack it up, and go home, because you can always try again until you get it right.  With that in mind, here is mine.  

To be more daring.  By that I mean to seek out new experiences, be more pro-active in how I live my life, accept invitations I would have normally declined, and generally be less afraid to try something for fear of making a fool of myself.  

I hope that in a year I will be able to look back on this journal and at least say I tried my damnedest.
